John Eichwald is an audiologist within the Office of Science in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Environmental Health. John has over 40 years’ experience in the field of Audiology. He has published extensively and made numerous presentations on the early identification of hearing loss in newborns and most recently the prevention of non-occupational noise induced hearing loss. From 2005 through 2017 he served as the CDC Federal representative on Joint Committee on Infant Hearing (JCIH). Prior to CDC, he spent nearly 20 years at the Utah Department of Health serving in both clinical practice and administrative positions. John has been collaborated with the World Health Organization (WHO) on the World Report on Hearing released in 2021. Most recently he served on a workgroup for the Lancet Commission on Global Hearing Loss.
